This example is fictional and written for illustration. Replace every name, company, date and number with your own facts.

  • Name the research method behind each design decision, such as moderated testing or card sorting, so reviewers see how you reached the solution.
  • Pair every redesign with a before-and-after metric, like task completion rate or drop-off, and state the time frame it was measured over.
  • Mention the size and scope of the design system work, such as component counts or teams using it, rather than just listing the tool.
  • Show collaboration by naming roles you worked with, like engineers or support staff, and the artefact you gave them, such as specs or prototypes.
  • Link a portfolio case study that matches a bullet on the resume, and keep the resume itself to outcomes, not process descriptions.
Should a UX designer resume include a portfolio link?

Yes. Place the link near your contact details and make sure it opens without a password. Choose case studies that match the roles on your resume so reviewers can check the details behind your bullets.

How do I show impact if I lack hard metrics?

Use what you can honestly measure: number of tests run, issues resolved, components built, or feedback from stakeholders. Label estimates as approximate and avoid inventing figures you cannot explain in an interview.

How long should a UX designer resume be?

One page is usually enough for up to around ten years of experience. Keep two to three strong bullets per role and leave the deeper process detail to your portfolio case studies.
